Abstract
After receiving from Henry II the reward of the county of Medinaceli in 1368, the La Cerda family tried to round off its estate by acquiring the lordships completely encircled by or bordering its lands. Such is the case of Luzón and Arcos de Jalón, purchased by the third count of Medinaceli, Luis de la Cerda.
