Abstract
In this work, archaeomagnetic dating results for three kilns found at the site in Avenida de las Ollerías in Córdoba are presented. A total of 54 specimens were demagnetized in the paleomagnetism laboratory at UCM, through thermal and alternating field demagnetization techniques. Archaeomagnetic dating was performed by using the archaeo_dating software tool together with the synthetic Paleosecular Variation Curve generated by a regional model (SCHA.DIF.3K). Two of the examined kilns show statistically equivalent directions and a common date for their last use of around 1200 AD. The third kiln belongs to an earlier period, with a date of last use around 838-1025 AD. Results obtained are consistent with archaeological observations, which date the kilns between the tenth and thirteenth centuries AD, one of them being older than the rest.
