Abstract
Having an ostomy entails damage to the skin and, therefore, a high risk of damage to our natural barrier, which can cause skin alterations and a decrease in the quality of life of the patient. A prospective descriptive study of the benefit of the use of Prontosan® (Polyhexanide + betaine 0,1%) in cleaning periostomal wounds is carried out. The objective of the research is demonstrating the benefit of Polyhexanide + betaine 0,1% in periostomal lesions. The methodology of the study consists of seeing the evolution in the healing of periosteal lesions by exposing different clinical cases of the main complications existing in an ostomy. Results: Treatment through the application of foments with Polyhexanide + betaine 0,1% in periostomal lesions, allows optimizing the time in wound healing, being a safe and easy way to administer product.
