Abstract

The museum is an institution that has served to build a vision and interpretation of the historical development of the peoples. However, like anysocial instrument for the construction of knowledge, it is subject to permanent review of its functions and principles, as it has been manifested inrecent times, with the tensions and reflections around its own definition. The research is framed in this context of the changing of museological trends,which over time struggle to adapt their vision to the social realities that surround them, focusing on a specific area, Ibero-America.The starting point of the research is based on the interest aroused by the networking undertaken by the supranational institution Ibermuseos, in order to build a transatlantic museological narrative, which would forge instruments,interactions and objectives for the Ibero-American area.
