Abstract

The sporadic or chronic use of cocaine causes serious effects on the health of users. It can be aggravated by polydrug use, the presence of adulterants or the increase of drug purity on the street. Its consumption continues to be a major public health problem.Cocaine has become the reference stimulant for many European drug users due to its increased availability and purity. In recent years, the manufactured cocaine and the quantities of seized cocaine have reached maximum levels.It is essential to know the drug, the prevalence, and the profile of users to design and evaluate prevention and treatment policies.
