Abstract
Current climate emergency requires the attention of artists to highlight the impact of human development on the environment, mainly the in marine ecosystems. Pollution, overfishing, eutrophication or melting of the polar ice caps with rising sea levels as the most obvious result, are just some of the threats faced by the oceans. However, none of them is as lethal as the silent and invisible enemy that has unleashed the ocean acidification process: carbon dioxide (CO2). Works developed by the collective “The Algae Society” and invited artists underline the importance of the oceans and the organisms that inhabit it for the development and survival of life on earth, as well as the consequences that our lifestyle has on them.
