The article focuses on the Sociedad de Gestión de Activos Procedentes de la Reestructuración Bancaria (SAREB), which was one of the major players in the distressed market. Topics discussed include the issue whether the bank should be deemed a financial entity in the context of a Spanish Scheme, and an amendment made to the Spanish Insolvency Act.
