Resumo

This article aims to analyze and compare the construction of Jean Marie Le Pen’s and Marine Le Pen’s public figure in the French media as leaders of the National Front. To this end, we will study the emergence of Jean-Marie Le Pen as a public figure: his ways of spealing, the symbolic position that he occupies and the place of enunciation that he takes.Then, we will do the same exercise with Marine Le Pen. We will conclude that the greatest difference between both does not really lie in the contents of their speech, but in the place of enunciation from wich they adress to the French society. This shift is based on the position that each of them takes in relation to the republican consensus.
