Abstract
New experimental data on adsorption equilibrium of quaternary mixtures of the system CJ, CJ, CO2, CJ over 13X zeolite are reported. Two thermodynamic models are used for equilibrium prediction from pure component and binary mixture data, the IAS model and the RAS model. Activity coefficients in the adsorbed phase necessary for RAS model were calculated using Wilson equation. A comparison between the two models shows that RAS is a better approximation than IAS theory, giving much lower deviations from experimental data. Individual adsorption isotherms show that CO2 and Cf tend to displace the other adsórbales of the surface, regardless of the initial composition of the gas mixture. This effect also observed in other systems, can be explained from the nature of the molecules and their interaction forces with the surface.
