Abstract

Metatarsal head resection is associated to postsurgical complications that could be promoted by the surgical approach, related to anatomical and functional changes derived of the surgical procedure. The design of a decision algorithm regarding the surgical approach could help clinicians to decide the surgical approach of metatarsal head resection depending on clinical features and surgery indication and therefore, to prevent surgical complications. Moreover, to the best of our knowledge, there are few studies linking the increase inplantar pressure with the location of the DFU after diabetic foot surgery, and the results are inconsistent.
