I got my BSc in Pharmacy (August 2006) and MSc in Biological and Biomedical Sciences (July 2008) at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. Subsequently, I got my MSc (October 2009) and PhD (highest distinction, Cum Laude, October 2012) in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I continued my research with 3 years of postdoctoral stays at the Catholic University of Louvain (02/09/2013-30/06/2014), the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (01/09/2014-01/09/2015) and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (02/09/2015-30/09/2016). I was awarded several scholarships (predoctoral IRD, predoctoral Carolina Foundation, predoctoral AECID, postdoctoral AECID) that allowed me to acquire a deep knowledge in the research of bio-guided isolation of compounds with anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antimicrobial, anti-HIV and neurodegenerative activities. As a result, I have co-authored 35 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters that are indexed in SCI, being published in prestigious international journals (Q1), and having received 649 citations. My research has also had industry impact, obtaining several patents. I have participated in various research projects, and I have disseminated my results through conferences and public engagement reports. In 2018, I was appointed Interim Full Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Adjunct Professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In these positions, I taught subjects related to chemistry and pharmacology. I have also supervised a PhD thesis, 2 MSc theses and 12 BSc theses. Since November 2021, I a member of the Biotransformations Group led by Professor Mª José Hernáiz Gómez-Dégano and Assistant Professor in the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
