Doctor by the Université Paris 4. Paris-Sorbonne with the thesis La conception de l'honneur dans le théâtre espagnol et français du XVIIe siècle 1990. Supervised by Dr. Pierre Brunel.

Professor at the Complutense University. Doctor from the Sorbonne University, José Manuel Losada has carried out his research work for more than ten years at the universities of Harvard, Oxford, Montreal and Durham. He has also given official teaching at the universities of Navarra, Hebrew of Jerusalem, Montpellier, Munster, Munich, Valencia, Guadalajara-Mexico and Tunisia, as well as seminars and conferences by invitation in fifty European and American universities. He has published twenty-five books of literary criticism and myth criticism in a dozen European and American countries, as well as two hundred articles in specialized magazines in twenty countries. Professor Losada’s main teaching focus is on myth: he teaches “Religion, Culture and Literature” in the Complutense Univeristy Master’s Degree on Religious Studies. He is an expert evaluator for ANECA, AEI, CNEAI (Spain), HCÉRES (France), and for candidatures at IUF (France), U. of Munich (Germany) and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). Member of the editorial committee of various publications, José Manuel Losada is Director of "Acis, Research Group on Myth Criticism", Founder and Editor of "Amaltea, Journal of Myth Criticism", President of "Asteria, International Association of Myth Criticism", and animates various research projects on myth criticism of the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Community of Madrid.
