Dr. Antonio Alvarez Fernandez-Balbuena received his graduate dipl. in Optics and Optometry in 1994 from the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM), since 1998 has been researching in several projects in the Faculty of Physics granted by Comunidad de Madrid. Since 2000 he has been working in the UCM Faculty of Optics in the Photometry laboratory in the area of applied optics, natural lighting, LED signalization and computer-aided lighting design. During year 2008 he earned a MS degree in Technical Optics from the UCM, obtaining in 2011 a PhD degree with a thesis about optical systems for natural lighting entitled “Optical systems for concentration, caption and guiding of solar radiation”. During his research he has been working in national and international projects (Eureka, Cénit,…). In several projects he has acted as the principal researcher publishing books, more than 20 indexed papers contributing in the field with 15 patents and more than 50 Congress. Actually he is main investigator on project Photonic Restoration applied to Cultural Heritage: Apllication to “Dos Figuras” Dali’s Picture.
