Miguel Cuervo Frías holds a Master's degree in International and Development Economics from UCM (2024) and a Bachelor’s degree in History and in Economics from URJC (2021 & 2022). He is currently a PhD candidate in Economics at UCM. He is also afiliated with ICEI and has teaching experience as a graduate teaching assistant of Economic and Social History at URJC (02/2023 - 12/2024). In his academic career he has had contact with various topics that respond to the interest in understanding current societies from the perspective of the great socio-economic and political transformations of contemporary times, such as the emergence of capitalism, debates on development or nations and nationalisms controversies. Given his training and his broad intellectual concerns, he moves between History and Political Economy, relating both fields of knowledge and their methodologies with a unidisciplinary social science approach. In his PhD project he works on the relationship between economic development and educational reforms in Latin America in the 20th century and early 21st century, with the supervision of Nuria Puig Raposo and Adoración Álvaro Moya.
