Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Bioestratigrafía con Conodontos del Givetiense (Devónico Medio) del Pirineo Central 2014. Supervised by Dr. Sergio Rodríguez García, Dr. José Ignacio Valenzuela Ríos.

Assistant Professor and member of the Research Group: “Precambrian and Paleozoic Perigondwana Stratigraphy and Paleontology (UCM 910231). She is in charge of the following research line: Devonian stratigraphy, paleogeography and evolution of the Iberian Peninsula in both research groups. Corresponding Member of the International Subcommisssion on Devonian Stratigraphy (SDS) since 2013. Member of the IGCP Spanish National Committee (since 2014) and Member of the IGCP Spanish Scientific Subcommisssion (National Commission of Geology) since 2018. Visiting scholar in several universities and Research centres including Univ. California Riverside, Univ. of Braunschweig, Sciences Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague, Senckenberg Research Institute and Museum of Natural Science (Frankfurt an Main), Univ. of Greifswald, Univ. of Montpellier. Her scientific interest covers the History of Earth and Life on Earth for the whole Devonian; special attention is paid to the understanding of the ultimate causes and relations between biota evolutionary patterns, physic‐chemical changes on the Earth’s surface and the influence of perturbations caused by Earth’s dynamics. These studies rely on high‐resolution biostratigraphy, mainly conodonts, that are being combined with geochemical and geophysical studies, microfacies analysis and cyclostratigraphy. Integration of all data will be valuable in undertaking current environmental changes and threats. She has published 76 peer‐reviewed research papers and book chapters (30 JCR) and edited 3 books. H-index: 11; i-10: 12. Among the main academic works can be mentioned the establishment of a very fine detailed conodont‐based standard of reference for globally subdividing and correlating the late Eifelian, Givetian and early Frasnian (Middle and Upper Devonian), which is the basis for multidisciplinary studies aiming at a better understanding of the Devonian World. She is the recipient of several prestigious grants and fellowships including the DAAD for Academic and Scientists, Juan de la Cierva, José Castillejo. Recently, she gained the excellent Research Grant María Zambrano. Producing peer-reviewed papers regularly, presenting results at the highest-rank conferences, managing research projects independently and supervising Ph. D. students from different countries demonstrate the substantial scientific record. She has participated in the organization of 20 Professional Conferences; as a highlight, she was the Executive Secretary of the past Conodont International Conference and the meetings of the International Subcommissions on Devonian and Silurian Stratigraphy, in 2017. Because of the relevance of her Devonian Research and knowledge on Devonian matters, she was elected in 2013 corresponding member of the SDS. She is the leader of the multidisciplinary Spanish-Portuguese Research Group within the International Geosciences Project (IGCP) 652 “Reading geologic time in Paleozoic sedimentary rocks”, which is a UNESCO (2018-2023) sponsored programme. Therefore, the core of her research is connected with the chief directions and policy of the International Union of Geosciences and the International Commission on Stratigraphy.
