Resumen

http://rua.ua.es/dspace/bitstream/10045/6212/1/EL_16_13.pdfEighteenth century has always been a less studied period in Spanish Philology, especially in the case of History of Spanish Language: Lexicon has been more or less studied, but almost everything about syntax or phonology must be still done. The situation of Historical Dialectology studies about this century is similar, or even worse. This paper is just a first approximation to the Spanish of the Eighteenth century Basque Country. We analyse a letter written by a non cultivated man from Guipúzcoa to his wife, where some interesting features can be discovered: not only some features of the Spanish spoken nowadays in the Basque Country, but also ones which can be related with Basque Country romance dialect from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
