Resumo

In this doctoral thesis, a detailed study of the secretory process mediated by the stimulation of the cat adrenal medulla muscarinic receptor and the implications of the R (+) channels activated by Ca (+2) have in this and after the analysis of the kinetics of prolonged stimulation of this receptor and of the different sources of calcium that participate in the secretory response. We have concluded that Ca (+2) -dependent potassium channels modulate the muscarinic response, counteracting the depolarization that stimulation of this receptor generates, self-limiting the triggering of action potentials and the secretory response that is enhanced by blocking such channels. These channels appear to correspond to the SR type due to the pharmacological dissection performed. On the other hand we have been able to establish a pattern for both secretion and ..
