Los lugares de memoria en Españauna perspectiva espacial de análisis del conflicto de memorias

Resumo

Last years, memory studies have reached a high level of academic development andof intellectual reflection. From different disciplines such as History, Anthropology,Philosophy, Art History and others, collective memory and its importance in humanbeings groups has been a relevant subject of study. These have researched about theidea of ‘places of memory’ – concept linked to French historian Pierre Nora (1998).This way, the reflection about the importance of collective memory for social groups,based on the ideas of Maurice Halbwachs (2004 [1925]; 2004 [1968], and thecontributions which have linked this with the idea of lieux, has progressed. On the basisof these ideas, I want with this research to suggest an analysis perspective from socialspatiality. I want to point out that space and memory have connection beyond justmonuments and memorials. Moreover, political analysis can also consider the inherentconflict of this connection. I provide a new approach based on Henri Lefebvre’s theory(1972: 1974; 1976a; 1976b; 1978) and some Human Geography ideas. This new pointof view make possible to analyse the political nature of space and memory..
