One of the main objectives in Forensic Anthropology is to determine the sex of the remainsunder study. It is not always possible to recover the remains which determine the sex with ahigh fiability, as pelvis or cranium, so new studies over the postcraneal skeleton are necessaryto discover its discriminant power. Due to the differences found between populations it isnecessary to perform specific studies over them, so the variability of the Spanish populationalso need to be studied. Differences in the muscular development, the quantitly-quality bonelevels and the physical activity level could explain the differences found between males andfemales, existing a sexual dimorphism on the human specie that makes possible to determinesex from its bones, being one bones more discriminant than others. Regarding the existingmethods to determine sex from an skeletal remain there are mainly two:the morphologic and metric methods. The morphologic method is commonly used on thecranium and pelvis and the metric method on the rest of the postcranial skeleton.
