La comunicación científica en la Unión EuropeaPolíticas y acciones

Résumé

The main purpose of this thesis is to study the efforts carried out by the European Institutions in order to improve the science communication. We have summarized the projects funded by the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission, aiming at building bridges between scientists and journalists, and between science and society. We also mention three Special Eurobarometer reports based on public perceptions of science, research and innovation, and other surveys focused to identify the main problems and core topics affecting science journalism and communication. Taking into account this information, we prepared and launched an special opinion survey addressed to the members of the European Union of Science Journalists´ Associations-EUSJA. The results of this survey were analized and some recommendations were given in this field, in order to contribute to the improvement of science communication and public understanding of science.
