Resum

The unquestionable impact of digital technology in todays Brazilian art has led us to elaborate a study on the evolution of creativity in this country beginning with the implementation of new technologies in art and the search for interactivity. The origins of this phenomenon can be placed in the fifties coinciding with the so-called Concretism, and later with the Neoconcretism and Cinetism. There we find the first experiences for the application of computing and the participation of the viewer in the work. At the end of the military dictatorship in the eighties, Brazil joins the modern age and the search for interconnection between art and technology. During the nineties, with the impact of the digital technologies Brazil becomes a leading country in different areas of digital art: net.art, immersion image, virtual reality, interactive systems, robotics or transgenic art. There is a significant increase in the number of artists working in these media, in the exhibitions, and festivals. All of this happened in spite of the social and digital gap a sector of Brazilian society suffers.
