Abstract
The article presents a study of the foundation of those models which are currently employed in environmental risk management. The themes of civil responsibility for the environment and the so called «environmental insurance policies» are analysed, with special reference to the Spanish Pool of Environmental Risks (Pool Español de Riesgos Medioambientales - PERM).
