Resumo
From the ¿Vocational Schools¿ to the Universidad Obrera Nacional. State, Elites and echnical Training in Argentina, 1914-1955. This article offers an interpretation of the origins of the Universidad Obrera Nacional in Argentina -created during Juan Domingo Perón¿s first administration (1946-1952). Beyond Peronist specific goals as far as the University system was concerned, the Universidad Obrera could also be understood as the result of a protracted dispute among elites and the state about the vocational training of Argentine workers. This article¿s main aim is to explore that dispute and its consequences in the long run.
