Abstract
In this article we will analyze the characteristics and behaviour of the conjunction que ("that") as an enunciative element, in order to demonstrate that this conjunction can be interpreted as the expression of the speaker's point of view and his/her speech act. We will propose a classification of the different readings of que ("that") based on the previous speech and the relation with other enunciative elements. We will also study some syntactic processes related to the presence of que in the initial position of the clause. In the last part of my paper, we will study the syntactic behaviour of direct quotes when a verb related to the speech act is projected.
