Abstract
The ritual murder of the father -through mutilation and fall of the statue of Czar- that chairs the beginning of October, are undoubtedly the most powerful of the possible beginnings for a film that wants to proclaim the event of the revolution. Yet, the failure of October, its inability to form the organic whole that Eisenstein himself considered the most successful aesthetic form, is its inability to build at least the same scene to close the film and acknowledge the fullness of revolutionary event.
