Abstract

Through the following paper we will review some issues that photography has rised in recent years and they are related to digitization and the possible manipulation through an increasingly accessible software, but also we will review the possibility of immediate graphical information thanks to the smartphones, possible substitutes of camera; and of course the role of the citizen photojournalist. In addition, the paper will take a look into the mechanism by which a picture become an icon by social acceptance
