Abstract
The research analyzes sexual and gender simulations in two contemporary phenomena: reborn babies and hyper-realistic erotic dolls. Within a theoretical framework of sexuality and maternity, and in the context of postmodern hyperrealism and the logic of capital, the objective of the research was to study the construction of roles and the assignment of stereotypes to femininity, masculinity, and sexuality in the realm of science and technology. The phenomena are explored from Feminist Theory, specifically from The dialectic of sex (1970) of Shulamith Firestone as well as those of Donna Haraway in A cyborg manifest (1985).
