Résumé
Manuel Martín Serrano outlined in the seventies the Social Mediation Paradigm. It is a theoretical and methodological approach to study social communication as a mediation activity. An outstanding part of his work has been oriented to develop that Paradigm. This paper goes over the main contributions made from this field. Using their original texts, the paper revises the theoretical grounds of Martín Serrano Paradigm, the methods he used for studying social mediations and the empirical evidence in which he verified the validity of his analysis.
