Abstract

The goal of this research is to analyze the use of narrative and the scientific discourse like communication strategies in thepaleolithicprehistory context, intothe Museo Arqueológico Nacional (MAN), in Madrid. Taking into account the role museums have played in the field of education in the last years, it is relevant to analyze the technological and formal current practices for the narration of science contents and the potentials of creativity to enhance the participatory process and facilitate the transmission of knowledge. We will approach the concept of science narrative reviewing the corresponding literature and will study the didactic and divulgation tools actually used by museums. Finally, from the knowledge of the contemporary locative and transmedia narratives, we will analyze a concrete storytelling case study: the Paleolithic era, the exhibition on prehistory at the Museo Arqueológico Nacional (MAN), in Madrid, connecting the proposal with other relevant museums in Spain like the Museo de la Evolución Humana (MEH) in Burgos or the Museo Arqueológico (MARQ) in Alicante. The study results that although there is a wide range of narrative levels and structured information, the scientific discourse strategies can be improved from transmedia and locative formats.
