Resum

The Information and Communication Technologies (ITC) have had a huge influence on research in general and on paremiology and paremiography in particular. The ITC have made the development of data bases to collect the paremiographical material along with paremiological data possible. At the same time, the ITC have contributed largely to the diffusion of this material so that any researcher can have access to it. In this work we present one of these databases, the The Multilingual Proverb Database. It was published in 2005 on the Cervantes virtual Institute's webpage. This database aims to register Spanish popular proverbs along with its correspondences in other languages as German, Catalan, Basque, Gallician, French, Italian, Polish, Rumanian, Greek, Portuguese and provide paremiological information about them (kind of paroemia, markers of use, variants, synonyms...). It is a vivid database, since it is submitted to a continuous process of actualization and amplification.
