Resum

The aims of this research were (1) to compare the clinical efficiency of three treatments of nocturnal enuresis, and (2) to find out about the corresponding changes produced in the average functional bladder capacity. The treatments were: (A) Enuresis Alarm (Experimental Group I), (B) Retention Control Training (Experimental Group II), and (C) a version of Dry-bed Training (Experimental Group III). A 3x2 factorial design, with repeated measures, was used. Four 6 year old enuretic children formed each of the experimental groups. A control group, formed by four nonenuretic children of the same age, was also used. Each treatment lasted 50 days. The results, with regard to the clinical efficiency of the treatment , were these: The subjects treated with Enuresis Alarm showed the best improvement; those who followed the Dry-bed Training also improved significantly; those who were treated with Retention Control Training hardly improved. Considering the average bladder capacity it was found out that the bladder capacity had increased significantly with all three treatments.
