Abstract

In the last twenty years no process of convergence between Spanish regions has been observed in so far as their labour markets are concerned. As possible factors that help us to explain this absence of convergence we observe that: 1) changes in productiva structures, 2) differences in the productivity of labour, as a result of the different regional endowments of physical and human capital, and 3) the lack of flexibiiity inwage bargaining mechanisms may explain, at least in part, the differences observed and their degree of persistence.
