Abstract
In this paper we treat some concepts related to the term “extinction”. Due to the limited extension of this paper, we can’t present an exhaustive study on the subject, a study which would lead to a full book, because of the different circumstances that have played a role in the popularisation of “extinction” concept, together with the large number of authors involved in such a popularisation. The concepts we have treated here are of a great importance in Science Teaching, a field in which they are being used with such an ambiguity that they are obscuring, more than shedding any light, the understanding of the world around.
