Abstract
Educational indicators' function is to pick up quantitative and comparative data with the aim of facilitating knowledge on the educational system's situation and backing up the decisions about the reforms to be undertaken. This article describes two types of indicators: those coming from OECD's reports, particularly from PISA study, and those deriving from recent researches in which multiple level statistic models have been used to analyze the obtained data. Finally, parting from discussion of the selected indicators, we specify Spanish education's main problems and define priority lines of performance to solve them.
