Zusammenfassung
In this article we analyse two of the most significant aspects of the process of liberalisation of telecommunications services in the European Union: the trends in prices and concentration. The use of different baskets of services shows to what extent convergence in prices is taking place between European countries, while analysis of market shares and the number of companies leaves discussion open on a possible excess entry into the sector. The article concludes by suggesting some ideas on the challenges facing future regulation of the sector.
