Calidad y difusión de las revistas españolas de economía y empresael caso de las revistas de FUNCAS

Abstract

In this article we set out to examine the scientific quality of Spanish economics and business journals, and especially those published by FUNCAS. For this purpose, we review the procedures for establishing publication quality and distribution indicators, laying emphasis on the methodology of preparation of impact indices, on the lines of the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). In addition, on the basis of the EBREE bibliographic reference database, we analyse some features of the Spanish publications. We then go on to compile impact indices from the enhanced standard methodology. Finally, we present the impact indices, confirming that PAPELES DE ECONOMÍA ESPAÑOLA is in one of the leading positions in the impact rankings and the other two FUNCAS publications Perspectivas del Sistema Financiero and Cuadernos de Información Económica are in the first quartile of distribution in the Spanish publication quality rankings.
