Résumé
This paper reviews the characteristics of violence in adolescents’ and youths’ dating relationships, as people in this development stage have been revealed to be especially vulnerable, with a tendency to develop violent behavior. Prevalence rates and various violence modalities and their nature, causes, and main consequences are presented operatively. With the aim of elaborating future explanatory models to design prevention programs, various risk factors in the victims and the aggressors are also analyzed, underlining the complexity and interdependence of the variables involved. Lastly, the implications of this study for clinical practice and for future research are commented upon.
