Resum

The diabetes mellitus is a metabolic and degenerative deseasse, which consequences concern directly the foot. The deformity that appears as consequence of the progressive artropathy and vasculopathy. This things do that the foot is predisposed to abnormal hyperpressures in very concrete zones, with the consequent risk of injuries for pressures. The application of orthopaedic technologies in the wound zone as complement to the pharmacological treatment of the wound, will provide an increase in the expectations of treatment, as well as an increase in the speed of healing the injury. The incorporation of the technology of the Total Contact Cast (TCC), as treatment of pressure wound, is not tried to present as the best of the therapeutic orientations in this field, but if as one more alternative of wound in the diabetic foot.
