Resumo

This publication shows the results of an investigation on the reality of Mexican workers feminine children, conducted in Mexico City from October 2002 to June 2003. The investigation was presented to obtain the Advanced Studies Diploma as part of the PhD program in Social Anthropology at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. The results have been worked again in the PhD thesis, so some topics could be modified and extended in the next future. Today the feminine children work is almost completely unknown, most of the time it has been subsumed within the masculine universe of working boys, without considering the specific girls particularities. This approximation pretends to demystify some principles around this practice and to look at the girls in the Mexican social context, showing the complexity that this matter deserves and trying to avoid the simplistic generalizations of the “official” version.
