Evaluación de las alteraciones emocionales en personas con traumatismo craneoencefálico .

Resumen

Las alteraciones emocionales que acompañan a los T.C.E no han sido suficientemente estudiadas por diferentes razones, entre las que destacan la complejidad de los factores etiológicos implicados y la escasez de instrumentos de evaluación adecuados para estudiar de forma específica las alteraciones emocionales postraumáticas. En el presente trabajo se ha aplicado la escala de registro neuroconductual revisada (N.R.S.-R) a una muestra de 60 pacientes afectados por T.C.E. de diferente severidad. Los resultados obtenidos reflejan la naturaleza difusa de este tipo de lesiones, pero resalta el bajo rendimiento en los ítems que evalúan aspectos relacionados con el funcionamiento de los lóbulos frontales. Se propone una nueva estructura factorial para la versión revisada y se analizan los resultados en relación con diferentes criterios de gravedad inicial - escala de coma de Glasgow (G.C.S.) y período de amnesia postraumática (A.P.T.)-. Finalmente, se destaca la ausencia de una relación directa entre la severidad del daño cerebral y la presencia de determinadas alteraciones emocionales (ansiedad y depresión), señalando la importancia del grado de conciencia de los déficit como una variable esencial para explicar el nivel de ajuste emocional después de una lesión cerebral traumática
