Abstract

The increasingly common appearance of evolutionary cutaneous neoformations with fast development and invasive growth (like melanoma) provides the practitioner, and consequently the podiatrist, with the need to remain in continuous alert when dealing with any dermal injury. The podiatrist needs to use the examination as a fundamental clinical tool, in accordance with the patient's clinical records, and this will lead to the more frequent, often accidental, discovery of malignant cutaneous neoformations. The aim of this article is to make the podiatrist aware of the need to request complementary tests, such as, for example, ganglion sentry technology, in order to obtein an oncological report, and fundamentally before taking any therapeutic decision.
