Abstract

The aim of this work is to analyze the prevalence of mobbing in the workplace, as well as the main associated characteristics, in a multioccupational sample of 149 workers from diverse work sectors. For this purpose, a specific mobbinginstrument (NAQ-R) and a questionnaire elaborated ad hoc about sociodemographic and work aspects considered of interest were employed. The results of the study indicate that 8.7% of the participants had suffered mobbing behaviors during the past six months. Likewise, the mobbing characteristics found were, in general, similar to those found in diverse studies, both at national and international levels. The importance of the study lies in the alarming epidemiological data about mobbing found to date and in the considerable consequences this phenomenon involves, at the individual and organizational levels, as well as its increasing relevance in the forensic area.
