Abstract
In the last decade, there have been very few studies that have included some reflection about the fundamental rights of homeless people. In this article, we reveal that, despite the full acknowledgement of homeless people’s rights, their practice is hindered by the many barriers that, in fact, create a situation of total helplessness in these groups of population. The principles of equality and dignity should be the basic elements on which to base any attempt to help people who find themselves in this situation.
