Resum

CICERO’S republicanism is supported on three fundamental mainstays: on rethoric or probable condition of political knowledge; on historical mixed constitution, whose value has been confirmed by Roman experience; and on universal natural law of stoic origin. In this paper it is defended that the more original idea of CICERO’S republicanism is in the harmonization, by rhetorical arguments, between historical Roman patriotism and normative cosmopolitism, between mixed constitution and natural law.
