Résumé

This article is an introduction to a Revista de Psicología Social memorial issue to María Ros (1951-2006). The articles included in this issue are organized by Ros' two main research topics -identity and values. Articles by Huici, Gómez and Bustillos, Grad and Sanz, and Cano and Schweiger illustrate the relevance of the study of comparative identity -a concept proposed by Ros and her collaborators- in current research. Furthermore, articles by Ros; Ros, Rodríguez, and Casado, and Borges are contributions to the building up of the connections between comparative identity and values, along the lines of the research carried out by Ros and collaborators. The reading of this memorial leads to the conclusion that Ros' comparative identity has strongly influenced the research on social identity in Cross-Cultural and Social Psychology. Furthermore, the tight interdependence among social identity, values and social change is highlighted
