Abstract

In this paper we introduce the concept of function of consistency, function that measures the similarity between the sampling values and the possible value of a parameter in a determined model. The function of consistency measures the p- value of the sample or of a statistic for every value of the parameter. This function was utilised to construct hypothesis test, in problems with two or more populations, or in problems with two or more samples. The paper finishes, applying the function of consistency to the contras! of the equality of means for a normal random variable observed over two populations.
