Abstract
Despite the royal legislation about treason (nowadays political crimes), the low Middle Ages were, in Castile, very rough years. On many occasions the nobility attempted to be in power, even if that involved bending the king to govern the kingdom as they pleased. Thus signified that the monarchy had to fight to defend his own control over his political decisions, and, obviously, these type of laws were amongst his more powerful weapons.
