Abstract

The odontomas are the most frequent type of benign odontogenic tumor. lts etiology is unknown. These tumors, in general, are asymptomatic although they may cause a delay in eruption of the adjacent teeth. The diagnosis usually derives from a casual X-ray exploration and to a lesser extent with the absence of the adjacent tooth, which hasn't erupted or the presence of a tumor in the area. This paper describes a clinical case of a mandibular complex odontoma that interfered with the eruption of the lower left central incisor. A review of the literature is undertaken.
