Resumen

Recientemente se ha vuelto a poner de moda denostar la vertiente procesual de la arqueología, sustituyéndola por marcos referenciales subjetivistas y alejados del proceder científico. Dicha actitud se ha justificado de varias maneras pero destaca un uso parcial (y a veces maniqueo) de los fundamentos de la Nueva Arqueología, una concepción errónea de la corriente de la filosofía de la ciencia en el que la arqueología procesual se inscribe y una falta de justificación epistemológica de varios planteamientos posprocesuales. En el presente trabajo, se discute la vigencia del procesualismo en el ámbito del Paleolítico.
