Zusammenfassung
This article examines the mechanisms that enable a copular clause of the SN is SN type to act as a predicational clause, a function typically associated with adjectival groups. The claim made here is that the function of the copular clause is determined by three factors: the referential strength of the attribute, the topic of the text surrounding the clause, and the type of copular relation established by the clause, which can be either literal or fictional.
